The Manufacturing Engineering (ME) Trainee/Intern at Forvia will play a vital role in supporting the production line by ensuring processes are optimized to meet customer specifications using Faurecia standards and tools. Based in Pretoria (Rosslyn) and reporting to the ME Manager, the 12-month contract offers exposure to sustainable mobility technologies within a global automotive leader. The role focuses on maintaining, creating, and auditing accurate BOM and master data, while also contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, process documentation, and compliance with FES and HSE standards. This opportunity provides hands-on involvement in process reviews, plant layout updates, and problem-solving activities, all within a dynamic environment that values innovation, teamwork, and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Participate in review process FMEA’s
• Participate in review process flow diagrams
• Participate in SREA’s submissions
• Maintain manufacturing process documents for newly implemented machines
• Support continuous improvement and production through participation in the process specialist network
• Maintain BOM and master data in line with cycle time, takt time, and standard operations by releasing manufacturing process documents and flowcharts
• Participate in plant layout updates
• Ensure continuous improvement by capitalizing on lessons learnt and applying best practices using tools such as productivity analysis, improvement action plans, equipment performance, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
• Ensure FES and HSE standards and processes are always met and followed

Qualifications

• National Diploma equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
• Experience on computer systems
• Valid driver’s license
• Excellent people and teamwork skills
• Ability to speak, write, and read the English language
• Promote Faurecia values and code of ethics including entrepreneurial mindset, autonomy, accountability, fairness, and respect
• Knowledge of Employee Empowerment (EE) basics
